Over the past few months I've been enjoying working at multiple events to serve my community! I've been in cahoots with Dr. Cooke of Grow Chiropractic and Melissa of MBMT treating athletes, gym members, and breast-feeding moms alike.
Crossfit Sun in Carmel Mountain hosted their 5th annual Barbells for Boobs event, bringing their community together to raise funds that provide anyone with mammograms. No matter the age, gender, or financial status, everyone has the right to know and protect themselves. As the daughter-in-law of a breast cancer survivor, this fundraiser is near and dear to my heart.
My role was to work on the crossfitters in between their competitions. While I provided Gua Sha, Dr. Cooke gave adjustments and Melissa provided chair massages. And to the athletes who were too busy rocking it to see me, I raffled off free fire cupping sessions.

Speaking of Gua Sha for athletes, early on a Saturday morning I went to Fit Athletic in Carmel Mountain and provided it to the gym members. Melissa also joined me and gave chair massages. In between spin classes and sessions with their personal trainers they let us work out their knots and pesky sore muscles. We plan to go there many more Saturdays!

A really fun and busy event is actually a sort of "community cupping" day. I go to a patient's house, set up my tables, and work my magic. This event has been for breast feeding and baby-wearing mamas, but even the dads get in on it! These ladies have such tight necks, shoulders, and low backs. These events are helpful because they're able to bring their little ones. While they're getting their relaxing treatment, the other parents watch the kids, then they all rotate and take their turn. A social and healing day and NO need to find childcare! Win win. At the last baby wearing moms event, I had Melissa tag along and massage them as well!

And last but definitely not least, I had the opportunity to speak at Bellus Academy to the massage therapist class about Traditional Chinese Medicine. Now I am by no means a public speaker and I actually typically hate it! But after 15 minutes, I grabbed a marker and took over the white board and rambled on for an hour and a half about all things acupuncture. What can I say, I love my profession! The students were such a great audience and answering all of Brent, the instructor's, questions was too much fun!
Such a busy last couple of months! Stay tuned for another post about more events I have in the works. If you have anything where you would like gua sha, fire cupping, or massage provided, please don't hesitate to contact me so we can plan something together!
